For wine lovers follow ‘La Route des Vins en Haut-Poitou’, a total of 24 different chateaux and domains, each with their own unique welcome and style. La Ferme du Miel in the next village of Puyravault is well worth a visit.
Villa Tournesol is set in its own grounds with easy access by private road and parking to the rear. Garden furniture, bicycles, Wi-fi, french television with TNT and english television provided.
The ancient village of St Jean de Sauves has a range of shops and services including mini-market, bakers, bank with cash point, post office, chemist, garage, hairdresser and newsagent.
There is a small market every Friday in the village square, an archeological Gallo-Romain museum and even a fishing lake set in parkland.For watersports, bathing and teleski visit the nearby lake at Moncontour.
Within easy reach of the chateaux and ancient towns of the Loire with their many historic buildings. Visit the tombs of Richard the Lionheart and Eleanor of Aquitaine in the beautiful abbey town of Fontevraud, less than an hour’s drive. The medieval city of Poitiers and ‘Futuroscope’ are only 30 minutes away.
